Towards the back end of last year Hilton changed from it’s existing “Best Rate Guarantee” to a new scheme named “Price Match Guarantee”. The main difference to the new Hilton Price Match Guarantee is that if you find a lower qualified price online then Hilton will match the price and give you an additional 25% off that stay.
In the past with the old Hilton Guarantee you needed to have a booking direct with Hilton and send through the booking reference number via an online Hilton claim form to start your claim. That usually led to several messages backwards and forwards and wasted a lot of time. Now Hilton are encouraging you to contact them before you book with details of the cheaper rate from other sites (mainly the hotel comparison sites). That could save tons of time compared to the old method.
As part of the new Price Match Guarantee, Hilton also accept same day price match claims for people who want to book last minute.
To start a Hilton Price Match Guarantee claim you can either:
- Call Hilton direct on 08705 909090. They aim to handle claims immediately, while you are still on the call.
- Use the online claim form. Claims take around 24 hours.
This new price guarantee actually seems to appear quite powerful, by letting you deal directly over the phone, and for claims prior to booking. We’ll have to see how useful the Hilton Price Match Guarantee is on the next booking if the rate can be found cheaper on other hotel sites.
