REVIEW: Hyatt Regency Paris Charles De Gaulle Airport Hotel

First off, let me start by saying that this is the best hotel at Charles de Gaulle Airport! The Hyatt Regency at Charles de Gaulle Airport is a 4 star hotel, which is the highest rated chain hotel local to the airport, and is backed by the excellent service you receive from being a Hyatt Gold Passport member (soon to be World of Hyatt). The only other hotel with a 5 star rating, close to the airport is the Relais Spa Paris Hotel. In my option the Hyatt Regency beats the Hilton at Charles de Gaulle Airport, when comparing the facilities and what you receive as being a top level loyalty member. Read on for the full review on the Hyatt Regency Paris Charles De Gaulle Airport Hotel.

Charles de Gaulle Airport has more than enough hotel options for everyone. There are independent hotels, as well as the larger chains including Hilton, Sheraton, and Accor Hotels (Mercure, Novotel and Ibis properties). The Radisson Blu property closed last year. Having Diamond status in the Hyatt Gold Passport loyalty scheme, on this visit I chose the Hyatt Regency. When booking I used what I consider to be the best Hyatt Gold Passport Diamond benefit, the guaranteed suite upgrade. In the current Hyatt Gold Passport loyalty scheme you can upgrade your room at the time of booking to a suite. This benefit can be used for up to 7 nights per upgrade, and up to 4 times per year on eligible paid stays. If you have Hyatt Gold Passport Diamond status there is no point paying for expensive rooms at the hotel if you are planning on using a suite upgrade. Pay for the cheapest room at the hotel, and then upgrade using the suite upgrade. I usually book direct on the Hyatt site and then request the suite upgrade via their Twitter account (@HyattConcierge).

The super helpful receptionist quickly dealt with check-in and recognised the suite upgrade on the booking. The Hyatt Regency Charles de Gaulle Hotel has 3 different types of suite; Club Deluxe King, Regency King Suites and Presidential Suites. I was shocked to find out that I had been allocated a Regency King Suite. A little over the top for a 1 night stay.

The hotel describe the Regency King Suite as “a generous 80 square metre suite that offers a separate living area. Stay connected at an oversized work desk with high-speed Internet access, or host a small meeting in the spacious sitting area. After a long day, unwind in the comfortable chairs or on the sofa while listening to music or enjoying entertainment with Apple TV and a DVD player. In the granite bathroom, sink into the deep bathtub or enjoy an energising shower. In the comfortable bedroom, rest on the plush king bed with its soft-down duvet and plump pillows. During visits, guests can also benefit from Regency Club access which offers discreet attention, and from convenient arrangements such as early check in, late check-out, a complimentary set of laundry and a premium airport transfer with our eco-friendly Green Driver”. I took advantage of the eco-car airport transfer which was charged at €10 from the hotel to the terminal.
