Virgin Trains promotions featured heavily last year as part of the Virgin Red launch (a mobile app full of promotions covering the entire Virgin portfolio). Since then Virgin Trains promotions have been limited, and have mainly been targeted to existing Virgin Trains members by sending emails containing discount codes for rail travel. Now, hidden on the Virgin Trains site it is possible to book rail fares with a discount of 25% off Virgin Trains West Coast routes. The promotion also appears to have no expiry.
Virgin Trains have partnered with both the events company Ticket Factory, and the Birmingham NEC. Any tickets booked on either of the specific partnership pages reduces the cost of rail tickets by 25%. This discount is automatically calculated, without the need to enter a discount code, and is valid throughout the Virgin Trains West Coast route. Train travel can be booked up to 24 weeks in advance of travel. The terms of the offer state that you must show your event ticket along with your train ticket on board. Having used the offer myself I was never asked to show an event ticket.
To receive 25% off Virgin Train West Coast services, across the entire network, book by using either of the partner links.
You will only receive the 25% discount by booking through either the Ticket Factory or Birmingham NEC links. Discount is valid on Virgin Trains advance fares on the West Coast network. Discount is not valid for journeys travelled on both Virgin Trains West Coast and another train operator. You will need to book the two legs of the journey separately to benefit from the discount. The discount is valid on both standard or first class advance tickets. Maximum of 9 adult passengers per booking.
