ACT NOW: 3000 Miles & More Award Miles For £9

miles and more star alliance

Miles & More (the loyalty scheme for Lufthansa, Swiss, Austrian etc.) award miles are some of the hardest airline points for UK residents to earn. Since they closed down the opportunity to purchase award miles a few years ago, and have limited credit card signup bonuses points are even more difficult to accrue. However, in the past few months Miles & More have been more generous, even offering a quick boost of 500 points just for signing up to their newsletter. Last month Miles & More launched an extremely popular promotion offering 6,000 Miles & More award miles for ordering a sim card and topping up €20. That works out at under 0.29 pence per mile, which is extremely good value considering Miles & More award miles are worth around 1 pence each. Sadly that promotion has come to an end, though their latest promotion is now offering 3,000 Miles & More award miles for £9.

Until 31st October 2016 when signing up to Handelsblatt, a German financial magazine, you will receive a bonus of 3,000 Miles & More award miles. The digital subscription costs just under €10 (around £9). That works out at 0.33 pence per mile, well under what a Miles & More award mile is worth.

Signup for a 3 month Handelsblatt subscribe to receive a bonus of 3,000 Miles & More award miles.

Have you signed up yourself? If so, what method you choose for payment?

    1. Choose “SEPA-Lastschriftmandat” as payment method, then enter your IBAN/BIC. If you don’t have that information check a statement or call your bank for the details.

I haven’t been able to fathom the payment instructions for this one, even with Google Translate. Any ideas? One method is a bank transfer which is expensive, being overseas, and I can’t fathom what the other one is.

Is one going to be able to cancel this to end the trial if do the payment method you suggested and when do the points post?

        1. For trials like this I add a note in the diary as a reminder to cancel. Make sure to keep a copy of the confirmation email too.

Thanks for the replies. That’s a bank transfer isn’t it? My bank will charge me for that because I’m in the UK rather than Germany.

        1. It depends on your bank, though it seems some banks add charges.
