REVIEW: East Midlands Airport Escape Lounge

Escape Lounges have several airport lounges dotted around the world including locations throughout the UK. East Midlands, London Stansted and Manchester Airport all have Escape Lounges. The lounges themselves are quite impressive and certainly better than other airport lounges available. After a recent visit here is the East Midlands Airport Escape Lounge review – a stylish lounge with everything you need.

The lounge is separated into 3 different areas. To the right is the main seating area with ample chairs and tables which is ideal for groups or families, to the left an area of soft comfy seating perfect for business or solo travellers, and in the middle is a food and drink area including full size bar. The lounge does a good job of separating the different type of guests.

Escape Lounge at East Midlands Airport also has its own wifi network. Some lounges don’t have their own network and you have to access the main airport wifi, and this can often be a little slow and clogged up with all the users. Another plus is the food and drink offering. As I visited early morning there was a great breakfast selection available including warm croissants, cereals, and fresh fruit. Warm food, such as bacon or sausage sandwiches, can also be requested from the menu. Food and drinks in the lounge are free or charge, though you need to pay a supplement for premium drinks.

Free access to the lounge is available if you are a member of Priority Pass or Lounge Club. You can either sign up to become a Priority Pass member, allowing you to access over 900 airport lounges around the world, or open an American Express Platinum account which comes with a free Priority Pass membership for unlimited lounge access. Alternatively Lounge Club membership can be gain by opening an American Express Preferred Gold account – currently free for your first year.
