Hotel chains love to sell you their hotel points, and IHG are no different. IHG Rewards Club, the loyalty scheme for Holiday Inn, Intercontinental, Crowne Plaza hotels have been running a flash sale this week offering a 100% bonus buying IHG Rewards Club points.
Buying hotel points is not only just a great way to save money on hotel stays, but purchasing points also stops your existing account balance from expiring. Last year IHG announced that their Rewards Club points would expire after 12 months if no activity was on member’s accounts (IHG define activity as either earning or redeeming). If you do have IHG Rewards Club points that are approaching expiry, and you don’t want these points to expire, then one of the easiest ways to stop your existing points expiring is by purchasing a minimal amount of IHG Rewards Club points.
You can buy up to 60,000 IHG Rewards Club points with a bonus of 100%, creating a total of 120,000 IHG Rewards Club points. Purchasing 60,000 IHG Rewards Club points with the 100% bonus works out at £4.50 per 1,000 points (charged in dollars at $690.00 for 60,000 + 60,000 bonus).
