My Travel Cash Refunds – 1 Month Remaining

In August this year, My Travel Cash Mastercard Prepaid Cards were withdrawn from the market, and all applications have now been suspended. All existing accounts will be closed permanently on 4th October. There is now under 1 month to set alternative arrangements in place for travel abroad after this date, and to empty any funds from the account. Existing members can now apply for My Travel Cash refunds, directly on the My Travel Cash site. The My Travel Cash closure can only be associated to the new travel cards (such as Supercard) that do not require a top-up before being used.

The Supercard is free (Register for a Supercard). For people new to the Supercard, it is the latest product from Travelex, and is a card that links to your existing Mastercard or Visa cards (such as your bank account, or even credit cards). Everything is super easy to manage, which is through an app on your phone. This app allows you add a debit or credit card and link it to your Supercard. When the link has been created everything you spend on your Supercard abroad is instantly recharged to your linked account.

By using the Supercard instead of your regular debit or credit card you avoid any foreign transaction fees and also receive one of the best foreign exchange rates on the market. Any purchase or cash withdrawal you make in the local currency (such as euro, dollar etc) in automatically converted to pound sterling.

Emptying A My Travel Cash Account

If you have funds on the card, or if you will be continuing to use the card until 4th October, make sure you recover any remaining balance before account closure. Until 4th October you can withdraw or spend any remaining funds on your card, free of charge, at any ATM or Mastercard merchant. Alternatively, you can arrange for funds to be transferred to your bank account or donated to the ‘When you Wish Upon a Star’ charity.

Refunds can now be requested for existing My Travel Cash cardholders.

On 4th October 2016 your card will be closed, no further top ups can be applied and you will not be able to use the card. If there is a remaining balance on your card after closure, the company will process a transfer to your bank account if our details are on file.
