Hilton free night for zero, nil, squat! UK travellers can now get a free night anywhere in the world at a Hilton property, worth up to £800 in value, and possibly more. This is an official and proven method to claim a free night stay at any Hilton hotel – I used my free night at the Hilton Park Lane, London which is around £250 a night. Totally free.
Now as you would expect Hilton are not just giving away free nights around the world, there is a little carrot involved, a very little carrot.
Qualifying for the Hilton free night voucher
Hilton send out a free night voucher that can be redeemed after signing up to the Barclaycard Hilton HHonors Platinum Visa credit card. To qualify for the free night voucher you must spend a total of £750 within 90 days. This may seem challenging to some people but if you consider your monthly outgoings such as rent, mortgage, household bills, car hire purchase etc. it soon adds up. You can also use the card for general living expensive like food shopping, eating out or anything else you spend each month.
As soon as you spend the £750 on the credit card the free night voucher is generated. This can take a couple of weeks to arrive so keep checking your emails, and is valid for up to 6 months (the expiry is clear on the voucher so add this date to your diary). Now of course if you are spending on a credit card you could be subject to interest charges, so to avoid these pay off the card as soon as you have made a purchase. This can be done at anytime by logging into your online account.
How to use your free night
The voucher is valid at all Hilton properties, including Conrad which are some of the most expensive and luxurious, and is valid for a ‘free weekend night’ in standard rooms. A weekend night is treated as a Friday, Saturday or Sunday.
To check room availability at your preferred hotel go to the Hilton site, type in the location and dates. You should then click ‘Advanced search’ and tick the ‘Use HHonors points’ checkbox. The search will now show availability for a standard room. Example below shows a search for Fiji on 12th August for 1 night.
There are 2 Hilton hotels in Fiji, the most expensive being FJ$650 (around £220) a night. We’ll take that one, the top of the list, to see if it is available to book for free. To check click ‘Book a room’.
On the availability and room rates page you can see there are rooms available to book on that specific day. Notice that the Studio Beachfront room with ocean views is showing a ‘Standard room reward’. This now means that you can book this hotel, on the sample date, staying in this exact room, for totally free. It won’t cost you a penny!
Now that you have found the room you need to call Hilton to book the room (the UK number is 0845 7466677). When using a free night voucher these can only be redeemed by calling Hilton. There is currently no way to use these on the Hilton site. Quote the reference number of the voucher you receive to the operator and they will book the room.
If you are interest in other ways to use your free night, one of the most expensive properties in the Hilton portfolio is the Conrad Maldives Rangali Island at $950 per night (around £660).
Here’s another property I would love to visit in the Seychelles. Paradise at 370€ per night (around £300), or free with the voucher.
You could be staying at any of these hotels, or any other Hilton hotel for totally free. Sign up to the Barclaycard Hilton HHonors Platinum Visa credit card to get a free night at Hilton anywhere in the world. Where would you go?
